I’m not ready to sign a client!! Yeah, we’ve all been there, it’s counterintuitive. Isn’t that the whole point? To sign a client? But it can be scary. It can make you want to run and hide. Imposter syndrome rears its ugly head. And we all think maybe we’re not worthy. That’s ok. Step forward, one step at a time, and you’ll get it done. Your first clients will not be as smooth to onboard. They will take much more of your time to actually plan for and they will forever be nearer and dearer in your heart than any of the others.

Now your processes are glorious hiding places because they are so important! But know that they will evolve, so we’re going to take a few steps and get them to the stage of good enough, and then we’re going to move you on.

Remember that you’re educated. You know more than your clients. You know plenty about being a fantastic financial planner. And remember, all you have to do is stay one appointment ahead of your client. With those first clients, you’re going to be nervous, you’re going to be over-thinking, trying to do the perfect plan. That’s ok. You’ll have a little more time to overthink and make sure you’re doing a good job on their plan. But as you get busy, you’ll get better and more efficient and you won’t have that time to spend or need that time to spend with your fiftieth client.

You’re ready! You’re not perfect, but that’s ok! You’re ready. Go get em!
